On October 16, 2024, Baden Borough Council adopted an updated ordinance governing door-to-door solicitation and canvassing. This new ordinance imposes restrictions and requirements intended to protect the safety of borough residents.
As of today, all door-to-door salespeople will be required to acquire a permit from the borough office. These permits are subject to an application process that includes the submission of a criminal background check report and a schedule of the days and times during which they intend to be in town. Solicitation may only occur between the hours of 10:00am and 5:00pm. Solicitation is not permitted on Sundays or on holidays recognized by the United States or the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Applicants whose permits are approved will be listed on the Soliciting and Canvassing in Baden Borough page with the approved dates and times. Solicitors must keep a copy of their approved application on their person at all times and display it upon request.
Per the updated ordinance, solicitors may not knock on the doors of homes displaying a “No Solicitation” sticker of any kind. Complimentary “No Solicitation” decals are available at the borough office.
